Hi, Matt with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talk about the Yakima SkinnyWarrior on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. Now this is gonna be a great option if you really wanna save space on the other side of your vehicle for any other accessories like bike racks or kayak carriers, for anything else that mounts up top. So that's gonna be really nice if you wanna haul a lot of longer items, like two-by-fours or you maybe have golf clubs that kind of sit up there, it's gonna be a really good spot for those to fit. And as you can see up here, our carrier's only gonna take up less than half our total crossbar, and my crossbar is about 50 inches long, so that's very nice if you need to put on any additional accessories up top. And over here, where the total height is gonna add to our system, it's gonna add just about seven inches. So that's something to be mindful if it's unloaded and you're going in to any low clearance areas, you wanna fit in like a garage. more

Curt Roof Basket Review - 2023 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer and today we're gonna be talking about a Curt roof mounted cargo basket on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. This is gonna be a great roof basket to get if you're just kinda looking to free up some extra space, maybe the back of your vehicle is pretty full or you want to go on a camping trip, you need to store your additional gear up top maybe because you don't want any dirt getting in the inside of your vehicle or you just need to free up that extra space this is gonna be a great way to get your gear to the spot. Our basket is gonna be able to hold up to 150 pounds. Now always keep in mind if you have any additional gear in that plus the weight of your basket and your roof rack, that's gonna add additional weight to your roof so always make sure to make sure what your roof can handle. It's also gonna be constructed from steel with a black powder coat finish. That just means it's gonna be very durable and that black powder coat finish is gonna help it be more corrosion resistant. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Flint Hill Goods rooftop cargo basket on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. Now this is gonna be a great option if you can't really fit any more stuff inside the back of your vehicle or you just don't want to just 'cause maybe it's a little bit dirtier, maybe has sand, water, snow on it, then you'll be able to store that up top so it's kind of away from everything else. Our carrier's gonna be made of steel, and it's gonna have a black powder coat finish to it. So since it's made of steel it's gonna be very durable, and it's gonna make for a lot of great hook ons points even from these thinner rungs. But since it is made of steel, anywhere that like it's kind of gets scratched and that black powder coat finish comes off that's gonna make it more susceptible to corrosion. more

Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima SkinnyWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. Now, for something like a rooftop cargo basket, what uses does it have Well, if you're wanting to carry around some of those bigger, bulkier items, maybe like fishing rods and wanting to keep them out of your vehicle, or maybe just need some additional storage space, all of those are perfectly legitimate regions for needing a rooftop cargo basket like this. Our rooftop basket is going to have a weight capacity of 165 pounds, but do keep in mind that our roof rack system, as well as some of the components on our car might have their own separate weight capacities, and we wanna make sure we are catering to our lowest number possible. That way, we just don't overload anything and potentially cause any permanent damage to any of our systems. Carrier is going to weigh 23 pounds, which is pretty impressive. more

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Review - 2022 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at this Curt Roof-Mounted Cargo Basket and seeing how it fits on our 2022 Toyota RAV4. This is going to be the larger version of Curt's roof-mounted basket. They make one that's a little bit more square, but shorter, but this one has the extension piece in the middle. And the reason for that today is because the roof rack that fits on this particular RAV4 has a really wide crossbar spread, which is gonna make it hard to attach baskets, because a lot of them are meant for a more narrow crossbar spread. So you're gonna have to be looking at bigger boxes to accommodate that if you have the same roof rack setup that we have that utilizes these fixed mounting points. more

A very common question is if I do have cargo on my roof, can I still open my hatch As you can see here on our 4Runner, we still have plenty of clearance from the top of our hatch door and the back of our cargo carrier. Now, if you need to, you can also push this more towards the front of your vehicle, if you need more clearance, especially with the 16 inch long extension, but on its own, the SkinnyWarrior is a great fit. So if you're taking your 4Runner out for adventures and you want to carry some extra cargo, that you can't really fit inside your vehicle, or you may not want it inside your vehicle, that's where a roof mounted cargo basket like this comes in handy. more

Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Yakima OffGrid Roo Mounted Cargo Basket here on our 2020 Toyota RAV4. Now this can be an excellent way, guys, of getting a lot more cargo space getting up on top of the roof and therefore we don't have to even add anything on the back of our hitch. You don't have to worry about a hitch, the only thing we're going to need, a nice little roof rack system to make sure that this works. Now we do have it on here on the Rhino-Rack here today, but you can make it work on almost any crossbar system, so whether it be round, square, factory, or aero, you should have no trouble at all getting on it. One little thing I will say when considering what kind of crossbar to get, if you are wanting to start utilizing Yakima's same key system, it could benefit you to go ahead and just grab a Yakima roof rack. Now, of course, as we said, you don't have to do that, but that will begin as to go ahead and start getting all of our locking cores keyed alike, utilizing Yakima's same key system. more

Hey, everybody, I'm Bobby. And today at etrailer.com, we're taking a look at our Yakima OffGrid Cargo Basket on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. The thing to keep in mind with the 4Runner here, as you can see, these raised rails are actually pretty backset on the vehicle, The thing to keep in mind, especially you're adding that extension onto the cargo room roof rack as well, is that this door does swing up a little bit here, so be mindful of the space. If I do a quick measurement here, looks like about 17 inches or so to the back of that cargo basket. That can get a little troublesome especially you add any long items, so just keep that in mind. And right away, as you can see here, this cargo basket is gonna give us a lot of room. more

It's pretty easy to install. The way it's installed is to protect your truck all the way as well as it's super adaptable to whatever you need. It comes apart into three different pieces, which you can switch in and out just so that you can have the best day possible. Let's take a look at all the other different features it has.With the cargo basket on our truck, you have to remember that you have some excess height added to your truck roof. From the top of our bars here to the top of the rack is nine inches. more

Now what's great about getting a cargo basket like this is that if you want to maximize your space in your truck bed, you can store things inside there, as well as outside of it. This also works on roof racks. We don't have a roof rack on our truck right now. So it's attached to our Yakima bedrock HD racks, which sits more low-profile, but it works just as well on other factory racks. So we have this here on our Tacoma, and as you can see, I like this size because I can also attach mount things on our rack here beside the cargo basket, because this cargo basket has dimensions outside of 40 by 44. more

Adam: Hi, everyone, Adam, with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the CURT roof mounted cargo basket on our 2019 Toyota Sienna. This is going to be a great addition to your van just because it has a lot of passengers and might as well just free up some space if you're going on a long trip. We are going to have a dimensions of about 41 and a half inches by 37 and a half inches, and these sidewalls here are going to stick up about four inches.We do have a lot of space on this roof, so if you really wanted to maximize your roof and what you can carry up here, you can go ahead and actually grab an extension. It's sold separately, but it does add 21 inches to the overall length of this basket, which is always a plus. I always just try to maximize my roof whenever I'm putting a basket up on there. more

Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2019 Toyota Tacoma- Video
John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com and today we have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma. We're test fitting the Yakima OffGrid cargo basket. This has a 165-pound weight capacity and it's a great way to add some more cargo space to your pickup. It has an overall length of 44 inches and an overall width of 40 inches, but internally you're adding here about 39 inches by about 38 inches worth of cargo area. You do have the integrated crossbars here you can kind of move front and back and the back end here is open. So it really opens up the possibilities of what kind of cargo you can fit.As you can see, we still have plenty of space underneath the cargo basket here to store extra stuff. more

Rola Roof Basket Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today in our 2012 Toyota Forerunner, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rola Atlas Roof Mounted Cargo Basket. So I've already got it in place on our Forerunner just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. In my opinion, I would say it's going to add more of a rugged look to our Forerunner. That tubular design and the sleeve design is going to add to that.It attaches to our roof rack system just like most roof mounted baskets. That spacer goes between our basket and our cross bar and that bottom clamp goes on and then that top portion of the clamp goes on. So it's going to work with your round, square, arrow, elliptical and most factory roof rack systems.Let's go ahead and take a closer look on the inside. more

Kuat Roof Basket Review - 2018 Toyota Corolla- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Toyota Corolla, we're gonna be test fitting the Kuat Vagabond X rooftop cargo basket and two bike carrier, part number VX201.This measures 52 inches long by 41 inches wide, so there's plenty of space in the basket itself to store anything from your luggage, your camping gear, to your sporting goods equipment. Of course, at the front here, well you do have two skewer mounts, to carry up to two bikes.This does have a carrying capacity of 160 pounds, but you always wanna double check with your vehicle's manual to go by its weight recommendation when putting stuff on your roof.This does also have an extension piece, but for this particular vehicle, this size seems to be the best for that. It also has a fairing pre-installed at the front here, and that coupled with the aerodynamic shape of the basket itself, that's gonna help cut down wind noise and drag while you drive, and because of its positioning here, you're not gonna have an issue of clearance with our trunk and the basket either.Let's go ahead and show you how this actually installs. It's a very easy installation process. Our first step is you wanna take this plastic piece here, a bracket, that's gonna separate the basket from your roof rack system. Next, we'll take our metal bracket here, that goes up top. more

It simply clamps around your existing factory roof rack, like you see here, but if you have a Sienna that has an after market roof rack, it will work with aero, elliptical, square, and round bars as well.And it also locks into place so it's going to be secure. more

Inno Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Toyota 4-Runner, we'll be doing a test fit on the Inno Shaper 80 Rooftop Cargo Basket, part number INXA568. This cargo carrier features 41 1/2 inches by 30 inches by 2 inches deep of usable space.To get it installed, you need to be sure you have a minimum cross bar spread of 20 inches and also like to point out that we can still gain access to our rear hatch.To begin our test fit, I'd like to point out that I've already got three of the brackets in place and tightened down, as well as three of the square head bolts installed on our roof rack system. I'd like to finish the other one together. We'll need to gain access to the channel here in our roof rack system. You may or may not have to remove your end cap, depending on which roof rack system you have. So I'm going to remove mine so I can gain access. more

Malone Roof Basket Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we're going to be test fitting the Malone Katahdin Rooftop Cargo Basket, part number MPG311. This cargo basket measures 61" long by 38" wide and has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights. It's very easy to install. It simply clamps around our roof rack system, as you can see here, and has padding around it to make sure your roof rack system doesn't get any scratches or abrasions when you install it. The two bolts at the top do require an Allen key, which is included with our cargo basket. Today we have it around square bars, but this will also fit around round, elliptical, aero, and most factory style roof racks. You need a minimum crossbar spread of at least 25" and you need at least a minimum of 8" from the rear hatch so you can open it up completely, which, as you can see, we're not gonna have any issue of clearance with where we have it set up right now. This is great for transporting a wide variety of accessories, such as your camping gear, sporting goods equipment, anything that you're gonna be taking on the road so you can free up space inside your vehicle. It has a 150 pound weight capacity. Although it does have that weight capacity, you do want to check with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure that your vehicle can withstand that much weight. To start off we already have one of our brackets in place back here. We've got all the other brackets in place and secured down. more
